I dreamt that with my thumbs, I popped off a birds head and popped off a cat’s head and switched the heads on each other’s bodys. They ran around lost and confused. I chuckled and then put the heads back on the proper animal. I also dreamt I was looking for a place off the coast where turtles live. I was in the truck with a dangerous driver and just wanted to get there safely.  There were turtles everywhere around me. 

Last night I dreamt of visiting a place where boats were the main source of transportation and off in the distance, a volcano had erupted bringing on panic. I woke up this morning and in my twitter feed, there was news of a typhoon that had hit the Philippines. My Filipino chromosomes must have been feeling the energy as I dreamt. 

Last night I dreampt that I had moved to 1 room in this dirty dark warehouse. The walls were concrete and rusty. The first thing I had done when I moved in was hang up fun posters, add a lamp for good lighting effect, and unpack my clothes.

I had a friend stay over and the next morning, they told me that my apartment was haunted and run down and that I needed to leave. I looked around and realized, that they were right and I was surprised that I had moved there in the first place.

I packed up all of my belongings and went into the hall seeing how dark and dingy this warehouse really was. I felt unsafe and alone at the end of the concrete walls. I told the landlord, who was running around playing with all of these people in their 20’s, that I didn’t feel safe and wanted out of my lease. I looked around at the other residence and wondered why I had felt so uncomfortable when they all had looked so happy in their space.

There was a chairlift going through the warehouse and all of these people that I knew from a local bar were there. One of them had flipped off my friend and I turned around and said, “That’s not very nice!” in which they replied, ” I was joking.” And she shot me a glaring evil look. I knew that I was not in the right space and needed to leave.

The rest of the dream has evaporated from my mind, but more than likely, a scene from the dream will sneak into my day.

Last night I dreampt that I had just moved into a little apartment with another woman, put all of my belongings away, and felt at home when all of a sudden, I heard marching outside our door and Darth Vader and his army were coming to take over the land. My landlord was a sweet hippy woman who wanted to create a compound of creative, like minded people and her husband wanted it to be run by people that would take over and control the land and control the people. In the end, he won. He was on the dark side. 

We had an hour to move out and find a new place to live. We had no idea where to go until it dawned on me that I could move back home to my parents house where they welcomed me with open arms.

I remember walking down Chambers road and the on coming traffic consisted of running camels and space ships and soldiers coming at me fast. I dodged them, pulling my wagon with my belongings. 

What a bizarre yet entertaining dream. One of the things I remember was that I loved the fact that I could get packed in an hour to leave. I didn’t hold onto a bunch of material possessions.

This morning, I dreamt that I was in this house on a trip with a group of friends that I haven’t seen or hung out with for a long time, yet at one point in our lives, we were close. We were staying in different rooms and I decided that I didn’t want to stay in the room full of bunk beds and negative people so I went to try to find my other friends.

I could see them in their open space living room that they were staying in but the stair cases that surrounded the rooms wouldn’t lead me to them. I’d go down a flight of stairs only to see that the room they were in could not be seen. I’d run back up them, see them and go down a different hall, only to discover that there was a wall or balcony that separated me from them.  I didn’t want to cheat and jump over the balcony to get to them. I remember looking at a railing that somebody had broken out just so they could get out of the room. 

My dream was very much like Emcee Escher’s Relativity

I remember feeling left out and once I was able to get to them, I felt like they didn’t want me around. It was a dream of being lost.

What does it all mean?

This morning I dreamt of snowboarding back country in the most pristine snow looking up to see the perfect cornice to jump off. Tiny avalanches rolled down towards me and I wanted to make my way up to ride back down.

I just woke up from a scary nightmare only it was this morning. I was living back at my parent’s house and hanging out in my room with a friend. I heard my mom scream at the end of the hall and went to check on her. She was wide eyed, with her pupils taking up all the space in her eye and she was shouting “Belinda! Belinda!” 

I thought she was the middle of a nightmare so I tried to wake her up but she fought me off. The next thing I knew she had broken off the railings from the stairs and was trying to stab me with them.

I kicked her off of me and made my way outside to call my dad. I had some broken phone with no antenna and my mom found me and tried to sword fight me with the antenna of her phone.  

I saw an old childhood friend up the street wearing some little girl nightgown and she was dancing around her mailbox. I thought that for sure she could help me.  It turns out she was possessed too.  

I looked up at my parent’s house to see my mom on the roof tearing off shingles and throwing them down at me.  

In my dream, I wanted to wake up and write the movie down so I could turn it into a short horror film. In reality, I woke up, thankful it was a dream, and called my mom to tell her the dream. She laughed and said, you sure have some weird dreams Belinda!” and then laughed more. 

Mom, that’s not funny.

I just awoke from a dream where I worked at Fashion Denver only it it was overlooking a beautiful lake next to the ocean. James worked next door at a surf shop that was run out of a beach house. I felt comforted to know he was next door. He had blond highlights in his hair from the sun and sea salt and we ordered lunch that came in white take out boxes. I had a feeling there were delicious baja tacos in them.

I left to go on a road trip with an old friend and we traveled in an old VW Bus. We were in Ojai, CA and there were beautiful cliffs that lead to different tiers of water. I stared into the water and saw 2 big spotted whales that swam by. I tried to speak whale. with them and I think they understood and came back to hang out with me.

I sat in with a band in a living room that overlooked the view of cliffs and ocean outside and played keyboards on old animal tusks, the kind that died naturally, not that were killed. James wasn’t with me but I was so excited to text him pictures to share the adventure.

I remember being in a bathroom in a gas station and there were 4 toilets in 1 big stall. I found the only clean one but was surrounded by stinky poop in all of the other toilets. I tried to hold my breath and pee, but had to leave.

I reunited with old friends from a decade ago and glanced through old photos. There was one from a wedding where there were 2 mannequins placed in between people. Both the mannequin and the girl in the photo had the same expression on their face. The girl was mimicking the mannequin. I looked down again and both faces had changed. I’d look up then down again and again. They started out funny but then both had black eyes and looked like they had been beaten.

I woke up to the sound of a neighbor’s shower, just in time before the dream got any weirder. I feel refreshed and inspired this morning. Thanks ocean and whales and beautiful views!
