A fun night ends in a worried frenzy.
What a fun evening that turned into a mild panic attack. I was nominated for the Mayor’s Award in Excellence in the Arts and James and I attended the award ceremony. What a beautiful ceremony! We got a taste of the Opera, The Colorado Ballet, and the orchestra in between announcements of the three winners.
I didn’t win but the 3 winners were so incredible! I’m honored to have even been nominated with these 3 powerhouses. Congratulations Phil Bender, Veronica Barela, and the American Indian Art Galleries!
Anyway, James and I drove separately so I could have my truck back at the house and we were going to meet each other at home. I got home first. 10 minutes went by. 12 minutes went by. 17 minutes went by. 30 minutes went by. I started to get really worried. We both were heading home and left at the same time.
I must note that today, out of the blue, my HTC MyTouch 4G just decided to die for no reason. So I had ZERO ways to call James. I didn’t want to panic but after 35 minutes went by, my heart raced. I got onto Facebook to see if any of our mutual friends were online that could call him. 1 friend was on and called and texted him. No answer.
I began to wish that we had a land line. Wished that I knew his phone number (it’s just programmed in my favorites). Wished that I had followed him instead of racing home on my own little way.
That’s when I heard the door open. I ran to the door and there stood James, groceries and all. I felt this sudden flood of emotions and was so happy that he was okay. He had tried to call me to let me know that he was at the store and running late but my phone was dead so we had no way of communicating.
It is really scary when even for a short while, you don’t know where your loved one is. We’re always so good about communicating and when technology got in the way, it really had me feeling worried.
WHEEW!
But all is good and we are back in each other’s lovin’ arms.
